We: Ana, my wife, and me, Mijo, built this house as our summer or vacation home just for ourselves at the beginning of the ’80. In those days, Makarska wasn’t as popular as it is today. There were only some hotels, apartments, and rooms for rent in the town center and a huge camping site on the sea. However, more and more tourists came to Makarska, and they asked us about accommodation. We then decided to rebuild the house to make it comfortable for our guests.
Because we speak not only Croatian but also English, German, and Swedish, we can also get along in Polish, Czech, Slovak, and other languages. It allowed us to meet incredible people from different countries, and now we are friends with some of them.
We named our house “Villa Medusa” because Medusa (/mɪˈdjuːzə, -sə/; gr. Μέδουσα) means “guardian” and “protectress,” which thoroughly describes our hospitality, friendliness, and attitude to all our guests. Secondly, plenty of medusas in the warm Adriatic Sea will rest your body and soul.
In Greek mythology, Medusa was a Gorgon monster, generally described as a winged human female with living venomous snakes in place of hair. Those who gazed upon her face would turn to stone. Most sources tell her as the daughter of Phorcys and Ceto, though the author Hyginus makes her the daughter of Gorgon and Ceto. According to Hesiod and Aeschylus, she lived and died on the island of Sarpedon, somewhere near Cisthene. The 2nd-century BCE novelist Dionysios Skytobrachion puts her somewhere in Libya, where Herodotus had said the Berbers originated her myth as part of their religion.
Medusa was beheaded by the hero Perseus, who then used her head, which retained its ability to turn onlookers to stone, as a weapon until he gave it to the goddess Athena to place on her shield. In classical antiquity, the Medusa head’s image appeared in the evil-averting device known as the Gorgoneion.
The petrifying image of Medusa makes an instantly recognizable feature in popular culture. Medusa has been featured in several fiction works, including video games, movies, cartoons, and books. In particular, the designer Versace’s symbol is reflected through the Medusa-head symbol. It was chosen because she represents beauty, art, and philosophy.

Accoglienza familiare! Ringraziamo ancora per la torta e la frutta !! Il punto dove si trova l’appartamento è molto tranquillo. La casa era molto pulita dotata di tutto quello che puo servire per cucinare. Punto strategico per visitare perché le spiagge o calette sono a 10 – 15 minuti di macchina.

– Very quiet location, close to Vepric sanctuary and picturesque St. Jeronim church.
– Good departure to walking trails to Bast or Makar with amazing views. – Electric kettle, fridge and utensil available in the room to prepare breakfast or salads, otherwise there is a shared kitchen on a lower terrace (I did not use it).
– Friendly owner.
L’hôte est très accueillant et aimable. Il nous a arrangé pour l’horaire d’arrivée et de départ, et pendant le séjour il nous a offert du raisin de chez lui et un très bon gâteau. C’était parfait !

Lokalita se nám líbila. Hostitelé velice přátelští a příjemní. Ubytování pěkně zařízené, čisté, dobře vybavené. Prostorný balkonek. Ubytování doporučují pro výlet s kamarády a přáteli.

Bardzo polecam ten obiekt, właściciele bardzo mili i pomocni. Łatwy odbiór kluczy do obiektu. Apartament, który wynajęliśmy był czysty i dobrze wyposażony. Miejsce świetne, z tarasu widok na morze, z tyłu obiektu widok na potężne góry. Niedaleko apartamentu znajduje się fajny sklep.

Moc hezké ubytování v krásném prostředi na jedné straně hory na druhé výhled na moře. Apartman je situovan cca 1,2km od moře. Přatelští a usměvaví majitelé jsou Vám pořad k dispozici. Apartman byl vkusně a detalne zařizený, s pohodlnou madraci, kuchyn vše co je potřeba do detailu zařizená (jar, sačky do koše, houbyčky na nadobí). S prostornou terasou s překrásným výhledem na moře Nádhera. Nejvíc mě asi překvapila čistota apartamentu to se jen tak nevidí! Majitelé Vám daji i k dispozici velkou lednici ve společné mistnosti kde mužete uskladnit velké balení vody, piva půl melounu apod.. opět vše v apsolutní čistotě. Na plaž v Makarské se dostanete autem pod supermercatem jsme vždy našli misto pro vůz. Pokud hledate méně olidněné plaže tak jako my jezdili jsme směrem na Drveník podel cesty jich je spousty a stojí zato je videt určitě doporučiji plaž Nugal v rannich hodinách ji naleznete bez množství lidí a určite stoji za to!! Naš pobyt se uskutečnil konec července začatek srpna. Tenhle apartman i misto mohu jen doporučit pro rodiny s dětmi i bez! My jsme sebou navíc měli dva naše domací mazličky (čivavy) vše bez problemu.

Really clean and spacious, well equipped, AC can cool the whole room in minutes. Fantastic view of the mountains from the window and the small terrace. Host is nice and really helpful (he helped me get the car serviced while I was there). Riviera is just around the corner, there’s also organized trips to the top of the Biokovo mountain (don’t try going with your own car).

Miejsce piękne, bardzo życzliwy i uczynny gospodarz. Obiekt zgodny z opisem i zdjęciami. Z plaży trzeba wracać samochodem w południe. Natomiast rano i wieczorem spokojnie można pieszo. Można także pochodzić po górkach. Sanktuarium Maryi w Vepric oddalone 20 min pieszo, jest piękne.

Bardzo mili gospodarze. Przyjemne, zadaszone miejsce w ogródku z grillem i małą kuchnią. Kuchnia w pokoju i przy grillu bardzo dobrze wyposażone. A czego by brakowało, gospodarze wszystko szybko zorganizują.

De eigenaar kwam ons ophalen omdat onze tomtom niet goed werkte. Hartelijk ontvangst met een drankje. Het echtpaar stond altijd voor ons klaar. Zeker de moeite waard om bij hun te boeken.

Polecam!!! Obiekt zgodny z opisem. Zdjęcia oddają w pełni to co zastaniecie na miejscu, czyściutko, zadbany, doskonale wyposażony. Apartament mieści się tuż przy masywie górskim Biokovo, piękny widok z jednej strony na góry z drugiej na morze. Cisza, spokój, relaks. Miejsce idealne dla ludzi, którzy nie lubią gwaru i tłumu. Jeśli chodzi o gospodarzy Anna i Mijo to w skali od 1-10 daję 50! Przemili ludzie, szczerzy, gościnni,z poczuciem humoru, dbają naprawdę o swoich gości. Panuje tam taka atmosfera ze czułam się tam jak u starych dobrych przyjaciół. Dziękujemy gospodarzom za cudowne wieczory i pogawędki przy winie…, za wszystko!! Na pewno jeszcze ich odwiedzimy.
